Tree Surveys and Reports

A tree survey - also known as an arboricultural survey - can cover as little as a single tree inspection, and as much as an extensive woodland survey. There are a number of different types of tree survey, and which you need will depend on your requirements. You could be checking whether your trees have been affected by disease, assessing whether trees on your property are in a safe condition, or requiring a report to accompany a planning application. The reports will lay out the findings of any inspections and, where necessary, make recommendations to mitigate the risks or provide advice on general tree management. We can undertake follow-up work, such as tree surgery, planting or removal.

Ash Dieback Management

Unfortunately, ash dieback disease is now having a very visible and detrimental effect on ash trees nationwide. This management plan will enable you to locate, prioritise and assign any required work to the ash trees you are responsible for and provide long-term solutions for reinstating the treescape.

BS5837 tree survey and report

A BS5837 tree survey follows the ‘British Standard 5837:2012 trees in relation to design, demolition and construction recommendations’. It is often needed if you are expanding a house or are building on a commercial development, and generally to support planning permission applications.

Tree condition reports

Tree inspections are undertaken as a way to assess the risks posed to the people and property by trees. The findings are then written into a tree condition report, which gives an overview of the physiological and structural conditions of the trees concerned. The report also recommends any remedial works that may be required to reduce the highlighted risks. Tree condition reports can be carried out on individual or multiple trees.

Tree management and strategy plan

The treescape around us is ever changing. This report looks at the current tree stock, land use, history and surroundings and gives recommendations for the ongoing management of them. Recommendations are given on managing declining trees, mitigating any future issues, and planting trees as direct replacements for those lost as well as for future replacements for trees that can be retained to ensure a varied and healthy treescape.

Tree preservation order applications and conservation area notifications for tree work

Work on trees protected by a tree preservation order (TPO) requires consent from the local authority, such consent is gained through submitting an application. Similarly, work on trees in a conservation area requires a notification to be submitted to the local authority prior to the works commencing. We will be able to provide guidance on what woks, if any, are appropriate to the tree. Using our knowledge and extensive experience of these kinds of applications, we will then be able to submit any necessary applications and notifications on your behalf.
